Greenwood and Belt visit Mermaid House Inn
As seen in the Lebanon Advertiser:
Senator Christopher Belt (D–Swansea) and State Representative LaToya Greenwood (D-East St. Louis) met with newly elected Lebanon Mayor Cheri Wright and Lebanon Historical Society Treasurer Len Adams to discuss the impact COVID 19 has had on the Lebanon Historical Society. The overarching issue addressed during this meeting focused on the impact COVID 19 had on Lebanon’s events and the Lebanon Historical Society. The annual events, such as the Fall Festival, Witches Night Out, Victorian Holiday, along with the monthly car shows and bimonthly Farmers’ Market were discussed along with the plans for reshaping events as COVID 19 lingers into another season.
Senator Belt and Representative Greenwood expressed great interest in the Friends of McAllister Park events and planning for the Southeast Quadrant. Senator Belt shared his family ties to Lebanon along with his Illinois State University college roommate’s family ties to lifelong Lebanon resident, the late Rev. Gene Rhoden, the longest serving Alderman in the history of Illinois.
Both Senator Belt and Representative Greenwood had a genuine curiosity of the proud history of Lebanon and hope to be invited to future events.
